LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A 17-year-old was injured in a Friday afternoon crash.
According to the East Hempfield Township Police Department, officers were dispatched to PA 283 westbound just west of Rohrerstown Road for a serious crash involving a motorcycle.
At the scene, officers learned the motorcycle, which was driven by a 17-year-old Lancaster teen, was traveling west when it collided with a pickup truck.
The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
Both westbound lanes of PA 283 were closed for two and a half hours for the investigation. The highway was reopened around 6:50 p.m.
East Hempfield Township Police were assisted on the scene by East Petersburg, Rohrerstown, Hempfield, and Lancaster Township Fire Departments, and Manheim Township Police.
