EPHRATA, Pa. — A Lancaster County man charged last month with having inappropriate sexual contact with three juvenile girls for decades will face trial in county court after waiving a preliminary hearing, prosecutors said Wednesday.
Andrew Joseph Leisey, 53, waived his hearing before Judge Torrey Landis on Nov. 25, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office.
Leisey is charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault of a child, three counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and three counts of corruption of minors.
In a separate proceeding, also held Monday, Leisey’s attorney argued for his bail to be lowered – a position that the Commonwealth opposed. Landis ruled that Leisey’s $50,000 bail was appropriate given the charges and the number of victims.
Northern Lancaster County Regional police began investigating Leisey in July after a juvenile victim told authorities that Leisey had touched her inappropriately at his residence in the 200 block of Burkholder Drive from around 2013 to 2015 when she was about 5 to 7 years old.
In speaking with the victim’s family, investigators discovered two additional victims who also said they had been assaulted by Leisey as juveniles at his previous residence in the 100 block of Hurst Drive in Ephrata.
Assistant District Attorney Jessica Collo will prosecute the case. Detectives with the Ephrata Police Department filed the charges.
