Lancaster couple arrested on weapons, drug charges

LANCASTER, Pa. — A man and woman from Lancaster are facing multiple charges after they were found to be in possession of fentanyl, crack cocaine, and several weapons during a traffic stop.

Austin Turner and Ashley Alicea were taken into custody on Monday by members of the Lancaster Bureau of Police's Selective Enforcemtn Unit, which had been investigating Turner since November, police said.

According to police, Turner, a convicted felon barred from possessing firearms, was in unlawful possession of several handguns and was target shooting at a local firing range with Alicea, his girlfriend.

Police filed unlawful possession of a firearm charges against Turner.

On Monday, SEU members located Turner and Alicea in a vehicle on the 500 block of Southeast Avenue in the city. They conducted a traffic stop.

Turner was wearing ballistic body armor at the time of his arrest, police claim.

Police also found:

  • A loaded Glock 23 semi-automatic handgun with an altered serial number and extended magazine  
  • 84 pressed fentanyl pills
  • Approximately 11 grams of crack cocaine
  • Digital scale and drug packaging material
  • $181 in cash

During their investigation on Southeast Avenue, officers located a second firearm, a loaded Polymer 80 9mm semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine, underneath of the front driver seat of the vehicle that Alicea had been driving. 

Alicea, who does not have a license to carry a concealed firearm, was placed under arrest and found to be in possession of 22 pressed fentanyl pills. 

The vehicle was later searched and 125 grams of marijuana, packaged for sale, was located inside, police said.

Turner was charged with:

  • one count persons not to possess firearms
  • one count carrying a firearm without a license
  • one count possession of a firearm with an altered manufacturer's number
  • two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • one count possessing unlawful body armor 
  • possession of drug paraphernalia

Alicea was charged with:

  • one count of carrying a firearm without a license
  • two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • one count driving without a license

Both Turner and Alicea were arraigned and committed to Lancaster County Prison.
