Bomb threat that evacuated Lancaster County Wawa allegedly called in by 16-year-old

The threat triggered a large police response and caused the business to be evacuated and shut down for nearly two hours.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Editor's note: The attached video is from Feb. 27, 2024.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a reported bomb threat directed toward a Lancaster County Wawa. 

According to PSP, on June 2 at 8:37 p.m., multiple PSP Lancaster Patrol Troopers responded to 787 Route 41 in Salisbury Township for a report that a man was going to bring a bomb into the store. 

The threat triggered a large police response and caused the business to be evacuated and shut down for nearly two hours. 

Through an investigation, the phone number of the suspect was traced back to a 16-year-old in New York.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
