Police are investigating a shooting that injured teen in Columbia

The victim, a 16-year-old male, is not cooperating with investigators, according to Columbia Police.

COLUMBIA, Pa. — Police are investigating a shooting that injured a teenager in Columbia, Lancaster County Monday night.

It was reported at 11:58 a.m., according to Columbia Borough Police.

Responding officers found a 16-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg on the 100 block of North Fourth Street, police said. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

Officers recovered multiple spent shell casings on the 300 block of Avenue G near the avenue with North Fourth Street, which is where they believe the shooting actually occurred, according to police.

Investigators collected evidence from the scene and are continuing to work toward obtaining surveillance footage from several privately-owned security cameras located in the area of the shooting. 

At this point, the shooting victim is not cooperating with the ongoing investigation, police said.
