Pennsylvania State Police investigating fatal crash in Lancaster County

The driver- identified as Brian Lewis, 52, from Drumore- was trapped in the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lancaster County crash left one person dead Thursday morning.

The incident occurred just before 5:20 a.m. on Aug. 15 on the 1300 block of Slate Hill Road in Drumore Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Troopers say the vehicle caught fire and was fully engulfed when first responders arrived. The driver- identified as Brian Lewis, 52, from Drumore- was trapped in the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. 

The Lancaster Patrol Unit's initial investigation suggests that Lewis's car had swerved off the road and hit a tree.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash. Slate Hill Road was closed between Tanning Yard Hollow Road and Harmony Ridge Road for several hours while they investigated.
