A Lancaster County amusement park is one of two Pennsylvania attractions nominated for the USA Today 2023 10 Best Readers' Choice award for the Best Theme Park Holiday Event.

Dutch Wonderland, which is debuting its new Dutch Winter Wonderland attraction on November 18, received a nomination for the award, while its Pittsburgh-area sister park, Kennywood, is the other Pennsylvania nominee.

"Dutch Wonderland has made the holidays more festive than ever before as Dutch Winter Wonderland debuts on November 18 with 10 all-new ways to celebrate the season during the park’s most entertainment-filled holiday event ever," the park said in a press release. "This season, guests will not only be dazzled by hundreds of thousands of lights, but they can also experience the all-new Illumination Lane holiday light display, A Chris-Mouse Carol puppet show, Santa’s Jolly Lodge for meet and greets with the big man in red and seven other all new experiences."

Meanwhile, Kennywood will ring in the season with the triumphant Holiday Lights, which will also open on Saturday, November 18. Featuring more than two million twinkling lights, this year’s event is highlighted by an all-new Santa experience in Thomas Town.

Holiday Lights transforms Kennywood into a winter wonderland with more than 25 family favorite rides, new festive culinary delights and the nightly tree lighting at the tallest Christmas tree in Pennsylvania, standing at 100 feet.
