High levels of carbon monoxide prompt evacuation at Lancaster County theater

According to FOX43's crew at the scene, the Magic & Wonder Dinner Theater was evacuated after an employee began to feel sick and another experienced dizziness.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — High levels of carbon monoxide prompted the full evacuation of a Lancaster County dinner theater.

According to FOX43's crew at the scene, the Magic & Wonder Dinner Theater was evacuated after an employee began to feel sick and another experienced a symptom of dizziness.

First responders reportedly told the owner of the dinner theater that high levels of carbon monoxide were detected inside.

"This was due to an issue inside the kitchen where the airflow was not functioning properly through the theater. They have since remedied the issue with that all the equipment is working fine, everything has been checked out," said Brett Myers, the owner of the theater.

The incident happened as the theater was preparing for its 2 p.m. show, which meant staff, crew members and ticket holders all had to be evacuated.

A sign on the front door of the business reads, "We apologize to all guests but our theater is closed for both shows Friday, Aug. 30. If you already purchased tickets for tonight's performance, please check your email for next steps or call our box office at 717-323-3077 so we can take care of you. Thank you!"

The theater will reopen on Saturday for its regularly scheduled shows.
