LANCASTER, Pa. — The Lancaster City Bureau of Police is in mourning after the passing of K9 Zoltan early Sunday morning.
Zoltan was laid to rest after his handler of eight years, Officer Hatfield, saw his health rapidly declining.
Zoltan retired on Feb. 4 after being diagnosed with cancer twice within one year.
The K9 was given a police escort from his home to a veterinary hospital where a line of cruisers and fellow officers awaited.
Zoltan died surrounded by Officer Hatfield and family members.
