LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — An 18-year-old in Lancaster County was arrested and charged following an investigation launched from a Cyber Tipline report.
According to the Manheim Township Police Department, the report involved an individual uploading multiple files, suspected of containing child pornography. The files were uploaded through the social media platform Discord between January through March of 2023.
The files were reviewed and it was confirmed that they contained child pornography.
The report provided the email address of the Discord user and a search warrant was served at the address.
Electronics were seized from the home, which were identified as being used by Malik Sams.
According to police, the seized electronics were analyzed and many videos and images of child pornography were revealed.
Sams allegedly admitted to using the Discord account to both upload and download child pornography. He also allegedly admitted to using websites to download, view and share child pornography with other consumers.
Sams has been charged with three counts of sexual abuse of children and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility. His bail was set at $25,000.
