ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — Authorities in Lancaster County on Monday released additional details about the death of a woman at the Elizabethtown Fair last week, including the identity of the deceased.

Michele Rhodes, 55, of York, was pronounced dead near the concessions area of the fairgrounds last Tuesday, according to Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni. She suffered an apparent medical event at about 12:55 p.m., police said at the time.

Two members of the Northwest Regional Police Department, who happened to be eating lunch nearby, attempted emergency lifesaving measures and contacted Elizabethtown Police and EMS, but were unable to revive her.

The Lancaster County Coroner's Office pronounced her dead at the scene at about 2:15 p.m., Diamantoni said. A preliminary investigation determined nothing suspicious occurred.

Rhodes' body was transported to the Lancaster County Forensic Center, where an autopsy determined she died of Aspiration Food Bolus to Trachea.

Diamantoni ruled her manner of death was accidental.
