Lancaster County landlord sets apartment on fire

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Police in Lancaster County are investigating a landlord who reportedly set fire to an apartment he rented out.

According to West Earl Township Police, officers were called to the 300 block of South 10th Street in Akron on March 23 around 2 a.m. after a landlord, Ronald Frisbie III, was unhappy with his tenants for allegedly breaking a washer and dryer machine.

Police resolved the situation, and cleared the incident at 2:40 a.m., however they were dispatched to the same address at 2:44 a.m. for a report of arson.

Officers discovered Frisbie III had entered the apartment by using a code to a keypad door lock before lighting a cardboard box on fire. Police reported that the apartment was filled with smoke and the fire was extinguished by a witness.

According to police, Frisbie III was transported to Lancaster County Prison, where he will be held until his preliminary hearing.

Frisbie III was charged with arson, burglary and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.
