LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lancaster County man has been arrested for multiple traffic violations and on active warrants following a June traffic stop.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, on June 23 at 12:38 a.m., troopers with the Troop J- Lancaster Patrol Unit initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle for multiple traffic violations. The driver, identified as Devin Yake, 28, from Conestoga, had a large dog on his lap while operating the motorcycle.
According to troopers, Yake was carelessly driving, failing to use turn signals, driving too fast, failing to stop for a stop sign and did not have a registration plate.
Yake allegedly had methamphetamine in his sock, marijuana and other paraphernalia, according to troopers. He was also found to have active warrants for his arrest through the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office for fleeing and eluding police.
Yake was determined to be under the influence of drugs, according to troopers. He was arrested and transported to the Lancaster County Prison.
The dog on Yake's lap turned out to be a very friendly pit bull. The dog willingly took a ride in a patrol car where it was released to a responsible party.
