Lancaster County man charged with DUI after crash severely injuries 17-year-old passenger

Maxim Mannino, 21, from Denver, was allegedly traveling 89 mph in a 35 mph zone before the crash that severely injured his 17-year-old passenger.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lancaster County man has been charged after severely injuring a teenager in a single-vehicle crash on June 17.

Maxim Antonio Mannino, 21, from Denver, was charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, endangering another person, two counts of driving under the influence and multiple summary traffic violations. 

Officers with the East Cocalico Township Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash along the 1st block of West Church Street on June 17 at 10:32 p.m. 

According to officers at the scene, Mannino was found in the driver's seat and was complaining of head pain. Officers reportedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Mannino. He was transported to Tower Health Reading Hospital for his injuries. 

A 17-year-old passenger was also injured in the crash. The victim was taken to Tower Health Reading Hospital and treated for brain bleeds, a broken eye socket, a broken back, a broken pelvis, broken ribs and a broken foot. 

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim's mother told police that her son's Life 360 app showed Mannino was allegedly traveling at 89 mph in a posted 35 mph zone. 

The affidavit states that Mannino's blood alcohol concentration was .143%.

Mannino was released on $7,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, July 19.
