A Lancaster County brewery would like to buy a round for any first responders who helped put out the fire at Martin's Country Market on Thursday.
St. Boniface Craft Brewing Company made the offer on its Facebook page Friday afternoon.
Any first responder and emergency service member who was involved is invited to stop by the brewery, which is located next door to Martin's Country Market, tonight, St. Boniface said.
The first round of beer is on the house.
"We would again like to thank all the emergency services personnel involved in battling the fire at Martin's Country Market next door yesterday," the brewery's Facebook message says. "If you were one of those people, please stop by tonight for a free pint on us, maybe of our newest release, Late for Work West Coast-style IPA. Thank you thank you thank you!"
Martin's is closed indefinitely after suffering a multi-million dollar loss in Thursday's blaze, which broke out just before 4 a.m.
“Certainly it’s saddening being here since 1988, to be closed indefinitely it’s heartbreaking for the Martin family and at this point we want to take care of our employees and make sure they and their families are okay,” said Jay Martin, CEO of Martin’s Country Market.
About 200 firefighters battled the flames for hours, finally getting them under control around 10:30 a.m. Firefighters returned to the scene Friday morning to put out some hot spots that flared up on the scene.
Along with Martin’s Country Market, Martin Furniture and Mattress is located in the same building. The two businesses are run by different Martin families.
The family that runs the grocery store owns the entire building.
Approximately 120 people are employed at Martin’s Country Market.
