LANCASTER, Pa. — A Lancaster County woman is facing arson charges after the investigation of an apartment fire in August that displaced 20 people.

The Ephrata Police Department announced charges against Savanna A. Parsons, 30, following an investigation into a fire at an apartment building located at 526 E. Main St. in Ephrata Borough on Aug. 8 just before midnight.

Parsons allegedly admitted to police that she had rubbing alcohol and a lighter on her bed before the fire started and that she was alone in her apartment when the fire started.

It was determined that the fire broke out in the area of her bed, according to police.

Twenty residents from 12 apartments were displaced from the fire. One juvenile resident was evacuated and taken to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Parsons has been charged with arson endangering persons, two counts of arson endangering property and one count of aggravated arson. She was committed to Lancaster County Prison after failing to post her $200,000 bail.
