Lancaster man charged with trying to lure child into bathroom stall at Long's Park

Richard Gerth, 60, is charged with a felony count of attempting to lure a child into a vehicle or structure, according to Lancaster Police.

LANCASTER, Pa. — A Lancaster man has been charged in connection to an alleged child-luring incident at Long's Park over the weekend, police said Wednesday.

Richard Gerth, 60, is charged with a felony count of attempting to lure a child into a vehicle or structure after an investigation by Lancaster Police.

According to police, Gerth tried to lure a 7-year-old into a stall with him while the child was in the bathroom with a younger sibling.

Witnesses said Gerth left the park after the incident, but a police officer spotted his vehicle as it was exiting the park and prevented him from leaving.

The incident occurred at about 8 p.m. on Saturday, police said.
