Police respond to reported disturbance in Lancaster Sunday night; at least one arrested

The disturbance began as a dispute between neighbors and escalated, police said. State Police and other police departments also responded to the scene.

LANCASTER, Pa. — Police are investigating a disturbance involving a firearm that occurred Sunday night in Lancaster.

The incident was reported around 11:30 p.m. on the 500 block of Pershing Avenue, according to Lancaster Police. Multiple callers reported seeing a disturbance on the street and a man brandishing a handgun.

Responding officers learned the disturbance began as a dispute between neighbors and escalated. They were able to identify the suspect with the firearm, who gave consent to search his home.

State Police troopers and officers from the Manheim Township Police Department also responded to the scene to provide additional support in removing multiple people from the residence, police said.

A search of the home revealed a firearm, which was seized as evidence pending further investigation, according to police.

A juvenile resident of the home allegedly caused an additional disturbance and made threats to the neighbors; he was arrested for disorderly conduct, according to police.
