LITITZ, Pa. — Lititz Borough Police have charged a man with multiple counts of possessing child pornography, charging documents state.
Michael Gwyn Davies, 62, was charged after the conclusion of an investigation that began in December 2023, according to police. A detective conducting an online investigation traced a BitTorrent file to Davies' IP address.
The detective downloaded 71 files of suspected child pornography from the BitTorrent file, police said.
The detective contacted Lititz Police since the subscriber to the suspect IP address was a resident in their jurisdiction.
Police then executed a search warrant at Davies' home in August, seizing a laptop and external drives.
In an interview with police, Davies allegedly admitted to using BitTorrent to download movies but denied possessing any child pornography.
A forensic exam of the items found a total of 576 images of children under the age of 18 engaged in sex acts, 116 images depicting children under 10, and one video depicting children under 18 engaging in prohibited acts in a laptop and external hard drive belonging to Davies.
Davies has been charged with four counts of possession of child pornography.
