LANCASTER, Pa. — The long-term closure of a Lancaster-area roadway began this week.
A portion of Pleasure Road in Manheim Township was closed Monday to begin a culvert repair project, the township's police department said. The road is expected to be closed until the end of August, according to police.
While the repairs are being done, no traffic will be permitted to travel along Pleasure Road between Sunnybrook Drive and Walnut Street, police said. A detour, which uses New Holland Pike, Franklin Street, Walnut Street and Chestnut Street, will be in place until the project is completed.
The police department advises motorists to allow for extra time when traveling through the area.
