LANCASTER, Pa. — A York woman has been charged with assaulting multiple victims, including one who was bitten, during a disturbance at a Lancaster sporting goods store.

The incident occurred on September 26 at Dick's Sporting Goods, located on the 1500 block of Fruitville Pike, according to Manheim Township Police.

Officers responded to the store for the report of an attempted shoplifting, police said. While they were taking the suspect into custody, Melissa Musti, 42, allegedly became agitated and struck a victim in the back of the head, according to police.

She then bit another victim on the forearm while the officers attempted to restrain her, police claim.

Musti repeatedly yelled and screamed profanities at police and bystanders, causing public alarm and inconvenience, police said.

She also allegedly resisted arrest by pulling away from the officers and flailing her arms, making it difficult for police to take her into custody.

Musti was eventually arrested and committed to Lancaster County Prison, police said.
