Officials investigating apartment fire in Lancaster County

According to officials, residents of an apartment building along the 500 block of Woodward Street were trapped on the second floor.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Officials are investigating a Lancaster County apartment fire that displaced multiple residents. 

According to City of Lancaster Fire Chief Todd Hutchinson, residents of an apartment building along the 500 block of Woodward Street were trapped on the second floor. The only way was blocked by the fire, forcing five residents to jump from the building before fire crews arrived. 

Four residents were reportedly displaced; the Red Cross is assisting. 

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Lancaster City Fire Marshal, who is being assisted by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal. 

It's unclear at this time if there are any injuries.
