LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Lancaster County crews were on the scene of a house fire that injured one civilian and two firefighters Saturday evening.
According to Garden Spot Fire Rescue, at 6:30 p.m., crews were dispatched to the 400 block of West Main Street in New Holland Borough for a reported house on fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a well-involved porch fire, which extended up the side of the duplex.
One civilian was found injured, and EMS units were requested immediately.
While searching the building, the first-floor windows failed, causing the front of the home to be consumed with fire. Two firefighters sustained burn injuries before exiting through a window and the front door, stated Garden Spot Fire Rescue.
Both firefighters were transported to a hospital for treatment and then released.
Crews from around the area were on the scene until 10:30 p.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
