LANCASTER, Pa. — Reports of an active shooter at Lancaster's Park City Mall Wednesday morning were nothing but an accidental false alarm, the city's police department said.
The alarm was sent to multiple employees at the mall at 8 a.m., according to Lancaster City Police. But it was sent accidentally when a Park City staff member inadvertently set off an automated alarm system, police said. The message went out before the alarm could be turned off.
There is no active shooter at the mall, which was scheduled to open for normal business hours at 11 a.m., according to police.
