WASHINGTON BORO, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Thursday that a detour is scheduled to begin next month for a bridge replacement project on Route 441 (Water Street) in Lancaster County.
The bridge spans Shumans Run between Manor Street and Conestoga Street in Manor Township, PennDOT said.
Weather permitting, the bridge will be closed on Thursday, April 4. Multiple detours will be in place during the closure, according to PennDOT.
A car detour will use Route 462, 15th Street, Manor Street, Franklin Road, Central Manor Road and Route 999 (Penn Street).
A truck detour will use Route 30, Route 741 and Route 999 (Penn Street).
A bicycle detour will use Manor Street, Hempfield Street and Charlestown Road.
Work on the bridge is expected to be completed by May 31, PennDOT said.
JVI Group, Inc., is the contractor on the $1.6 million project.
