LANCASTER, Pa. — A popular York County brewery is expanding into Lancaster!
South County Brewing Company announced its latest expansion with a new location in the heart of Lancaster City. Co-owners Sam and Kellee Terroso will transform the iconic Pressroom at 26 West King Street into the brewery's third location.
Set to open in early 2025 and located in the historic Steinman Hardware building, the latest venture represents an exciting on-premises market for South County.
The brewery currently operates two locations in Fawn Grove and York Townships where its creative brews and laid-back environments have earned a strong following. The new Lancaster venue aims to bring the same dedication to quality, creativity and local engagement to a broader audience.
“We are thrilled to bring South County to the City of Lancaster and to have the opportunity to revive such a cherished space.” said Sam Terroso, South County CEO. “We look forward to creating a new home where both locals and visitors can enjoy great beer paired with a great menu in the center of this incredible city. [Co-owner] JR [Heaps] and our production team have done an amazing job with the entire South County portfolio including consistent fan favorites and innovative new offerings. Lancaster has always supported the South County brand and our growth. Being able to further share it in a vibrant market and in a truly classic setting is exciting for all of us.”
The new venue will reportedly feature a wide variety of South County's renowned craft beers and cocktails alongside a full menu of fresh American pub fare specializing in BBQ and artisan pizza. The venue will also host live music and large party seating.
In the spring of 2025, the unique Steinman Park courtyard will reopen, providing an inviting and dynamic full service outdoor experience for guests.
Founded in 2011 by JR and Jen Heaps of Fawn Grove, South County Brewing began on a small 5-barrel brewing system and quickly made a name for itself in central Pa. with its popular small batch craft bears featuring hazy IPAs, pale ales, lagers and fruit-based kettle sours.
Sam and Kellee Terroso joined the South County ownership team in 2019 to provide a larger entrepreneurial base for the developing South County brand and footprint.
