LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Update, June 3: State Police in Lancaster released an update on Friday's Pennsylvania Turnpike shooting.
Through additional investigation and physical evidence collected at the scene by Troop J - Major Case Team, a white tractor-trailer was identified as a vehicle of interest.
Troopers say that on June 1, the white tractor-trailer was located in the parking lot of a shopping complex on Crossings Boulevard, Caernarvon Township in Berks County by the township's police department.
Inside the cab of the tractor-trailer was a deceased male with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, troopers stated.
The Troop J - Major Case Team was notified and responded to the scene to collect evidence. Eventually, it was determined by troopers that the deceased male inside the vehicle was the actor in the homicide, which appears to be a road rage type incident.
Troopers confirmed that the victim, a 40-year-old male from Royersford, has since succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the Reading Hospital on June 3 by the Berks County Coroner's Office. The actor was a 59-year-old male from North Dinwiddie, Virginia.
