Two crossing guards recognized for their service in Lancaster County

Bob Kilheffer and Carl Penrod were recognized on the last day of school by the Lititz Borough Police Department for their hard work.

LITITZ, Pa. — Two crossing guards are being recognized for their hard work in Lititz. 

The Lititz Borough Police Department recognized and expressed appreciation to the crossing guards who completed their service to the students at Warwick School District at the end of the school year on Thursday, June 6.

Crossing guard Carl Penrod has been stationed at the intersection of East Main Street and Cedar Street since 2007. 

He said that he is going to miss all of the kids he has gotten to know during his tenure. Carl previously served in the U.S. Army. 

Crossing guard Bob Kilheffer was stationed both at the intersection of South Cedar Street and East Orange Street (at Lititz Elementary) and at Warwick High School. 

Bob has served as a crossing guard since 2017 and previously worked as a fire police officer with the Lititz Fire Company.
