Code Blue Alert issued for Lebanon County

According to the Lebanon County Department of Emergency Services, a Code Blue Alert will be in effect from Sunday until Monday afternoon.

LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. — The Lebanon County Department of Emergency Services announced that a Code Blue Alert will be effective starting on Sunday.

The Code Blue Alert began on Sunday at 2 p.m. and is scheduled to end on Monday at 2 p.m.

Officials with The Weather Service predict that the wind chill will fall below 20 degrees Fahrenheit during the alert period.

A Code Blue Alert is issued when the weather conditions meet the below criteria:

  • Temperature is predicted to fall below 20 degrees Fahrenheit for two or more hours, and/or the wind chill is predicted to be 20 degrees Fahrenheit or below for two hours or more.
  • Sustained temperatures below freezing with predictions estimating greater than 8 inches of snow accumulation in a relatively short period.

During a Code Blue Alert, unhoused individuals are encouraged to contact the below organizations for assistance in finding temporary overnight accommodations:
