LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. — The Lebanon County Department of Emergency Services announced that a Code Blue Alert will be effective starting on Sunday.
The Code Blue Alert began on Sunday at 2 p.m. and is scheduled to end on Monday at 2 p.m.
Officials with The Weather Service predict that the wind chill will fall below 20 degrees Fahrenheit during the alert period.
A Code Blue Alert is issued when the weather conditions meet the below criteria:
- Temperature is predicted to fall below 20 degrees Fahrenheit for two or more hours, and/or the wind chill is predicted to be 20 degrees Fahrenheit or below for two hours or more.
- Sustained temperatures below freezing with predictions estimating greater than 8 inches of snow accumulation in a relatively short period.
During a Code Blue Alert, unhoused individuals are encouraged to contact the below organizations for assistance in finding temporary overnight accommodations:
- Lebanon County Community Action Partnership, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Lebanon County Crisis Intervention, all other hours.
