LEBANON, Pa. — Lebanon Transit is looking for help from the public in naming its fleet of buses.

The transportation company on Wednesday invited residents to harness their creativity to help name the buses in its growing fleet as part of the first-ever Name the Bus contest.

Winning names will be displayed on each bus so residents can identify them by name during Try Transit Month in September, Lebanon Transit said.

The contest will consist of two rounds. During the first round, participants can submit up to three bus names per person.

Following this round, Lebanon Transit staff will select its top 50 favorite names from all submissions, which will be put to a community-wide online vote to determine the winning 18 names, one for each bus in Lebanon Transit’s fleet.

The name submission round will open on Monday, July 15 at 8:00 a.m. and close on Sunday, July 28 at midnight. The community voting round will run from Friday, August 2 at 8 a.m. through Friday, August 9 at 4:00 p.m.

Winning names will be announced and winners notified by Friday, August 30, 2024. Of the 18 winners, eight will be randomly selected to receive an official Lebanon Transit fleece scarf.

Both contest rounds will be hosted online at www.LebanonTransit.org/NameTheBus

Residents without internet access can contact the Marketing Coordinator at 717.274.3664 x 304 to submit their entries.
