LEBANON, Pa. — Three Philadelphia men have been indicted by a federal grand jury in U.S. Middle District Court on charges of drug trafficking and weapons violations in Lebanon, U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam announced Thursday.

Franklin Gonzalez, 25, Ricardo Batista, 22, and Tazwell Berrios, 22, are accused of possessing more than 40 grams of fentanyl and cocaine in October 2022, Karam said. They were also in possession of an illegal handgun used in furtherance of their drug trafficking activities, according to Karam.

The three suspects were indicted for possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, criminal conspiracy, and use of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, Karam said.

If convicted, the suspects face a maximum penalty of life in prison, a period of supervised release, and fines.

The case was investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police. U.S. Attorney David T. Williams is prosecuting the case.
