MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — A new 18,000-square-foot L.L.Bean location is set to open in Mechanicsburg in late September, becoming the fourth location the retail chain has opened in Pennsylvania.
Located at Silver Spring Square, the store will open on on Sept. 20. provide the Mechanicsburg community with outdoor gear and goods for community members to fully enjoy the experience of the outdoors.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 20. A lineup will start at 6 a.m. on Sept. 20 and 21 for the first 100 customers to receive a $50 gift card. Other family fun activities will take place including a boot lace customization bar, a trail mix bar and refreshments and a photo-op with the L.L.Bean Bootmobile.
"We are honored to open our doors in the scenic Mechanicsburg community this fall,” said Jessica Kanciruk, district manager for L.L.Bean in a press release. “Surrounded by the Appalachian Trail and the Susquehanna River, Mechanicsburg is an ideal location to serve outdoor adventurers of all kinds and equip them with the gear and guidance they need to explore nearby outdoor destinations.”
L.L.Bean will also be making a $10,000 donation to The YMCA of Westshore to continue its support of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
