Man accused of killing two young men in Schuylkill County in court Wednesday

Lamour Branch is accused of killing 18-year-old Hunter Mock and 16-year-old Angelito Caraballo.

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — "I feel like he should be where they are. Like he shouldn't be breathing the air we breathe," said Tanya Evans, Angelito Caraballo's mother.

A mother's grief was on display outside the Schuylkill County Courthouse as Lamour Branch faced a judge accused of killing two Schuylkill County teenagers, 16-year-old Angelito Caraballo and 18-year-old Hunter Mock.

"It brought to light some answers that we weren't privileged to know before and something that a mother should never have to see," said Kate Mock, Hunter Mock's mom.

Branch is accused of shooting and killing Mock before stabbing and killing Caraballo in October of last year.

Police say Branch and another man were with the teenagers the night they were killed in a wooded area known as the "Sanchez" just outside of New Philadelphia.

The other man testified that he ran for his life after seeing Branch pull his gun.

But Branch's defense attorney picked that testimony apart and placed the blame on the witness instead.

"I just feel like more people should be in trouble, so to speak. There were way more people involved in the whole situation," said Tanya.

But prosecutors argue it was ultimately the murder weapons both found on Branch's properties that linked the 19-year-old to this crime.

It was that evidence that convinced a judge to send this case to trial as these mothers inch closer to justice.

"My son was 18 years old, and not a whole lot of 18 year olds and their mother get along. We weren't agreeing on everything at the time, and I just wish there was just one more argument I could have with him," said Kate.

No trial date has been set yet.
