MIFFLIN COUNTY, Pa. — One person was transported to a Mifflin County hospital following a violent dispute.
According to the Lewistown Police Department, on Jan. 28 at 2:36 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of West Fourth Street for a report of shots fired. A person was found with at least two gunshot wounds at the scene and was transported by EMS.
The wounds are not life-threatening, according to police.
A preliminary investigation reportedly revealed that the victim was shot after engaging another subject inside the house while armed with a knife.
The subject who reportedly fired the shots was cooperative when interviewed by police.
The Lewistown Police Department clarified that this is an isolated risk and the public is not at risk.
