LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — If you're looking for something fun and active to do this summer, "goat yoga" at The Amish Farm and House in Lancaster County could be a good fit!
If you've never heard of this workout before, it involves goats and all kinds of yoga poses.
This class on the farm is only offered in the summertime as the baby goats have just been born.
"They're small enough for us to safely put them on people's backs and have them jump around...they're playful and social," explained Maya Habacivch, a farm ambassador.
The Amish Farm and House has been offering goat yoga on the farm since 2018.
There are two yoga class options: Regular Goat Yoga (a 60-minute yoga class with some goat cuddle time) and Family Goat Yoga (a 30-minute class geared towards ages 5-11 with lots of goat cuddle time).
"You definitely get a good stretch, but there is some fun with it if you're doing tabletop or downward dog. Our friends love to jump on people's backs, stomachs, any surface they can possibly find," Habacivich said.
Habacivich also recommends bringing an extra t-shirt to the class as the goats may have an accident that could get on you.
The classes take place inside their picnic pavilion on the 15-acre farm.
A farm tour is included with a Goat Yoga ticket.
Regular classes: Tuesday's & Friday's at 7 p.m. and Saturday's & Sundays at 10 a.m. & 12 p.m.
Family classes: Select Saturday's at 12 p.m. and Sunday's at 12 p.m.
Goat Yoga classes will be available on the farm through the end of August 2024.
