Start your engines! The Corvettes at Carlisle event is back in town

The Carlisle Fairgrounds is hosting nearly 3,000 corvettes from all different generations for the annual car show.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Sports car fans - start your engines!

The annual Corvettes at Carlisle event is back at the Carlisle Fairgrounds today through the weekend.

"Corvettes at Carlisle has been a Central Pennsylvania staple since 1982," said Mike Garland, Public Relations Manager for Carlisle Events.

It's an event that features nearly 3,000 Corvettes spanning from all different generations of the classic sports car.

Participants can check out the cool cars from the C1 to the modern day C8, shop at an automotive flea market, take part in different contests, or even buy one of the Corvettes that are for sale.

"It brings together Corvette lovers and Corvette owners literally from around the world. I know we have a family coming from New Zealand to be a part of the event this weekend," Garland said. "And it's a great economic impact driver for Central Pennsylvania as we're having guests fill the hotels, fill the restaurants and just otherwise be a great part of the community for a couple of days."

The event runs from 7 a.m, to 6 p.m. from Thursday through Saturday.

Sunday features a free Cruise-In from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
