Elizabethtown College therapy dog honored for decade of service | On the Bright Side

Elizabethtown College honored a four-legged friend who has helped students the past decade.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — Truman the therapy doodle is a friendly, furry face students at Elizabethtown College have come to know and love over the years.

"He has been a loyal companion, stress relief specialist, and compassionate friend to everyone here at E -Town, and this marks his 10th year of service to the college," said Abigail Marie Lindsay, the Elizabethtown College Class of 2024 President.

The certified therapy dog is a staple on campus.

Through the years, Truman has welcomed countless incoming students, participated in more than 600 classes, and visited with more than 4,000 nervous graduates.

The beloved doodle was offering support at this years' commencement ceremony, but little did he know, a surprise was waiting for him. 

"Truman, in recognition of your positive impact on the Blue Jay community, please accept this honorary degree from from President Ryder on behalf of Elizabethtown College," said Lindsay. 

Truman earned his own 'dog-gree' for his decade of service to the Elizabethtown College community.
