CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — It's the holiday season, a busy but "sweet" time for local bakeries, as they get those yummy treats ready for both customers and, of course, Santa.
The Pennsylvania Bakery in Camp Hill is on a roll this season!
"The day after Thanksgiving we start thinking about it," said Dresdon Rohrer, head baker at The Pennsylvania Bakery.
"People look forward to this time of year, it's the season of giving. They come in and get stuff not just for themselves but ones to share with their friends and family," said Rohrer.
Snickerdoodles, Christmas cut-outs, and cinnamon stars are just a few of the many popular holiday treats.
"It's part of the fun of the Christmas season - everyone's got their favorite treats. So [we] try to keep a little bit of everything to make everybody happy," said Rohrer.
And you might even be doing some holiday baking yourself. Rohrer's advice is to set the baking timer a couple minutes earlier in order to check the treats before they could become overcooked.
"You can always add more time but you can never take time away."
It's also a great time to be creative.
"Don't overthink it. If you have an idea for something jump into it and give it a shot cause it'll work out," said Rohrer.
