The fun continues at the York State Fair with a $2 Tuesday

If you're thinking of attending the York State Fair this Tuesday. Admission is $2, it's $2 per ride and there are $2 specials on select foods.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The York State Fair - full of rides and different vendors - has been around for 259 years.

It originally started as a two-day agricultural market on the town commons but it's now a 10-day fair.

It's an event that holds a lot of tradition, with a big focus on agriculture. The fairgrounds host tons of livestock and there's even a birthing center to show "how the animals come to life," said fair communications director Montgomery Stambaugh.

Inside Memorial Hall on the fairgrounds is their Agriculture Education Center, sharing information on where things come from.

"A majority of everything that we're around whether it's food or clothes comes from agriculture and this kind of shows your food to table, how clothes are made and a lot of different things that kids can learn," Stambaugh said.

And whether you come for the agriculture, the rides, food or exhibits - there's something for everyone to enjoy.

“My favorite part is just kind of seeing the generations of families come together from your grandparents to your small kids....and they can make memories as a family,” Stambaugh said.

Tuesday is considered "$2 Tuesday" at the fair, meaning - $2 admission, $2 food specials from select vendors, and $2 rides. The fair opens at 1pm on Tuesday.

Also Tuesday night, two acts will be performing on the free stage. And at 7 p.m., Bullride Mania, a ticketed event, takes place with bronc riding, team roping, barrel racing and more.

This year's event also features new free attractions, such as the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, the Cool Zoo Reptile Show, and the Flying Cortes, which involves a man firing himself from a cannon.
