PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Due to forecasted severe weather in Pennsylvania, National Night Out events across our area have announced cancellations.
Severe storms with a chance of flooding and damaging winds are forecasted for much of Central Pennsylvania.
As a result, National Night Out events have begun to be canceled.
Here are some of the area departments that have announced cancellations:
- Camp Hill Police Department
- Community Progress Council
- Derry Township Police Department (rescheduled for Aug. 20)
- Highspire Borough Police Department
- Lower Allen Township
- Lower Paxton Township Police Department (rescheduled for Aug. 13)
- Lititz Borough Police Department (rescheduled for Aug. 13)
- Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department
- Shippensburg Police Department
- Strasburg Borough Police Department (rescheduled for Oct. 1)
- Steelton Borough Police Department
- Swatara Township Police Department
- Pennsylvania State Police - Chambersburg
- Upper Allen Township Police Department (planning to reschedule for October)
- West Hempfield Township Police Department
- West Shore Regional Police Department
Fortunately, the East Pennsboro Township Police Department was able to make arrangements to hold their festivities indoors at the Penn Harris Hotel at 1150 Camp Hill Bypass in Camp Hill from 6 - 8 p.m.
Additionally, the National Night Out event for Carlisle Borough and North Middleton Police has been moved indoors to Building T at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Guests can enter through Gate 3 and will be directed to Building T.
