HARRISBURG, Pa. — Summer vacation is over for many kids as they head back to school. But some of that learning can also happen outside of the classroom.
The Whitaker Center in Harrisburg recently welcomed a new exhibit known as the Animation Academy, which is full of interactive elements that teach both kids and adults the art of animation.
According to the center, visitors can create their own stop-motion animated shorts, learn about the art of storyboarding, go behind the scenes with artists and animators, and enjoy America's largest 3D zoetrope.
Each display and interactive activity features the participation of industry leaders, from original hand-drawn cells to real stop-motion maquettes.
Some of the exhibit's elements include:
- Voice Acting in Animation
- Keva Castle
- Mr. Toad Car
- Animation Camera
- Learn to Draw Stations
- Scooby Doo Photo Op
- The Simpsons Photo Op
- Kinnect Art
- Spongebob Photo Ops
