PENNSYLVANIA, USA — The owner of a popular York County donut franchise has died.
Charles Burnside, the owner of Maple Donuts, has died at the age of 78.
Burnside passed away on April 4, and his obituary can be read here.
According to Maple Donuts' website, the original store opened its doors on Maple Street in York in 1946.
By 1969, Burnside had purchased the business from his father, and grew the company to become one the largest independent producers of donuts on the East Coast.
