Deceased EMS providers honored by Pennsylvania EMS Provider Foundation memorial service

Participants traveled from Montgomery County to Harrisburg by bicycle to honor fallen EMS providers.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania EMS Provider Foundation hosted its 14th annual memorial service, arriving in Harrisburg via bicycle.

Bicyclists traveled 150 miles from Montgomery County to Harrisburg in dedication to EMS providers who died while serving.

State lawmakers and EMS agencies from across the Commonwealth then came together to honor those killed in the line of duty at the Capitol Rotunda.

"These 81 brave EMS providers were not just emergency responders," said State Senator Katie Muth. "They were neighbors. They were friends. They were someone's family member, and while we're here to honor the memory and service of those 81 individuals, it's also important to honor the work of all of you here today."

More than 80 EMS providers have been lost in the line of duty in Pennsylvania.
