Update: Deadly crash reported in Perry County; Route 11 now back open

The crash was reported shortly after 11:30 a.m. between Cove Road and Schoolhouse Road near Duncannon, a PennDOT spokesperson said. The roadway is closed.

DUNCANNON, Pa. — Update, 2:45 p.m.: PennDOT said Route 11 is now back open.

One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Perry County Wednesday morning, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson said.

The crash occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Route 11, between Schoolhouse Road and Cove Road between Marysville and Duncannon.

It reportedly involved a passenger vehicle and a tanker truck, according to PennDOT spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler. 

Route 11 is expected to be closed until at least 2:30 p.m., Schreffler said.

Additional details about the crash and the identity of the person killed were not immediately available.
