DUNCANNON, Pa. — A Perry County borough is under a boil-water advisory.

The Borough of Duncannon issued a boil water advisory on Aug. 13, stating the Ann Street water main project is extending to other areas of the borough. New water system control valves are being installed in the surrounding areas, and the advisory applies to all residences that are connected to the Duncannon water system, due to the loss of positive pressure during the installation.

"You should not drink the water without boiling it first," the borough told residents. "You should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.

"Testing will be performed on the water system after the project is complete for two consecutive days to verify the water is safe to use, if the water is safe to use a notice will be sent to you informing you that the water is safe to use without boiling first."
