CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police have arrested a man reportedly wanted for crimes in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
On Jan. 25, PSP Troopers in Jonestown observed a traffic violation from a silver Kia SUV in the area of Interstate 81 southbound at mile marker 85. The trooper reportedly attempted to make a traffic stop for the car, which failed to stop and a pursuit began.
The driver allegedly drove through the Fort Indiantown Gap base at a high rate of speed and then rammed a gate, proceeding to travel onto I-81 southbound.
The car then traveled through Dauphin County and into Cumberland County when the driver lost control of the car and crashed at mile marker 33. As a precaution, police asked people to avoid the area of I-81 in Cumberland County due to the ongoing incident.
The driver, believed to be Jimmy Lee Fancy, 35, from Daytona, Florida fled from the car and ran westbound along the Stoughstown Road/Burnthouse Road, Ritner Highway area.
State Police established a perimeter but were unable to initially locate Fancy, who is currently wanted for firearms violations in New Jersey and well as active warrants in Pennsylvania.
According to PSP, Fancy was taken into custody later Thursday afternoon.
