DUNCANNON, Pa. — A portion of Route 22/322 in northern Dauphin County was closed in both directions after a utility pole snapped, bringing down power lines in the area, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said Wednesday.
The closure was located in the area of the Red Rabbit Drive-In restaurant and Rutter's convenience store, near Duncannon at the Dauphin-Perry County border, a PennDOT spokesperson said.
PPL workers were working in the area when the pole snapped, bringing power lines down on a PPL truck, the spokesperson said.
As a result, there was a power loss in the area as well, PennDOT said.
There were no injuries reported.
PennDOT said traffic is being rerouted around the closure at Route 147 on one side and Route 11 on the other side.
According to a PennDOT spokesperson, both lanes reopened around 7 p.m.
The PPL Outage Map shows 461 customers have been affected by the outage (as of 10:45 a.m.). PPL estimates it will be about 12:30 p.m. before power is restored.
