YORK, Pa. — Police are investigating a deadly shooting involving an officer at a rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility in York County.
Shortly before 1 p.m. on May 2 at Rest Haven York, located at 1050 South George Street, the shooting occurred according to emergency dispatch.
The York County Coroner says a 32-year-old man died at WellSpan York Hospital following the officer-involved shooting. His identity will be released after additional family are notified, according to the coroner. An autopsy is scheduled for May 3 at 8 a.m.
According to troopers, the shooting has been contained and there is no danger to the public. However, drivers have been advised to avoid the area if possible.
