The South Hanover YMCA will undergo renovations this summer that officials hope will better serve a growing community.
A major focus of the project will be overhauling the Field House, which is slated to get two refreshed turf fields, as well as two multi-sport courts for youth and adult programming, including soccer, volleyball, field hockey, pickleball, futsal, basketball, lacrosse and more.
Other improvements include constructing a fitness area on the second floor in the existing Mezzanine space, expanding programs for all ages and enhancing the spectator and participant experience.
"This renovation isn’t merely a facelift; it’s our pledge to invest in the well-being of youth, adults, families and seniors now and into the future," officials said in a press release.
Officials pledged to make the transition as seamless as possible for those who currently use the YMCA.
G&S Foods, The Rice Family Foundation and Hanover Area YMCA joined forces to fund the project.
