Teen charged with homicide after deadly Pa. crash

LYCOMING COUNTY, Pa. — A minor is facing homicide charges after a fatal crash in Lycoming County.

According to state police, 17-year-old Stephen Yuhasz of Reading faces homicide by vehicle and other related charges after crossing into oncoming traffic in an attempt to pass a vehicle along Route 87 in Upper Fairfield Township just after 6 p.m. on July 6.

Kathleen McFadden, 65, was killed from multiple blunt force trauma when Yuhasz's Jeep and the victim's car attempted to avoid impact but hit the front passenger side McFadden was in. 

According to the Lycoming County coroner, She was entrapped in the wreck until officials arrived, and she was pronounced dead around 8 p.m.

Her husband was treated for his injuries. 

Yuhasz is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on January 13, 2025. He is currently held in the Lycoming County Prison.
